At the Kadena Revetments

I neglected to post this picture before, simply because it's nearly impossible to read what's on the placard behind Bob. I thought the vegetation was pretty cool though...this is right next to the stone and concrete revetment that is pictured in Bob's Saturday below. The placard basically explains that the revetments were used by the Japanese to shelter their aircraft during WWII. The crude revetments provided a bit of protection from aerial bombardment and naval gunfire. The concept being that it would take a direct hit to eliminate an aircraft, vice a nearby exploding shell.

As usual, you can click on the picture to view full size.

Bob's "Hood"

Here's Bob, checking out the neighborhood. This is looking east-southeast toward Uruma (formerly known as Gushikawa). Click the pic to enlarge it.

Obstacle Course

Here's Bob at the Obstacle Course on Camp Hansen. For those of you that have been to that lovely place, the "O-course" is located next to the big grass parade deck, and right behind gym/pool.

Bob's Saturday

Here's some of the places that Bob stopped at today. The first three are at the Sunabe Seawall, and the last one is in front of a WWII aircraft revetment on Kadena AFB. Bob was busy today, and now he's worn out.

As with all Blogger pictures, you can click them to view full sized...

Bob's House...in the Middle of Bob's Street

Yep; the title is a bit like an old Madness song, but this is Bob's house. Note the traditional Shisha Dogs at Bob's feet; they keep the evil spirits away (the pigs belong to my wife).

More Roaming

Here's Bob outside of his favorite restaurant. No sense in making folks guess where he's at, since the sign is clearly visible above him...he does kinda blend into that sign, doesn't he?

Thanks to RND for the help.

Welcome to the Chronicles of Bob

This is Bob. Bob will be roaming around the world, starting here in Okinawa, Japan, and his travels will be chronicled on this blog.

If you've been to Okinawa before, and want to see Bob somewhere, just shoot me an email.

Enjoy!

Name Bob's Location!

Should be pretty easy to tell where Bob is in this one...
