Retirement
Well folks, this is probably the last post on Bob's blog. He may indeed make a few future trips, but it probably won't be any time soon.
While I thoroughly enjoyed documenting Bob's travels around Okinawa, I'm having a much better time with my other two hobbies-- golf and Geocaching.
So, until Bob decides to go nuts in the future, this blog is officially adjourned.

Party Bob
Bob went for a walk last night. Here's the nice people that he met; they were happy to meet him. I did get some strange looks though...I guess anybody that's walking through your neighborhood at 9pm with a camera in one hand, and a five foot tall wooden giraffe in the other, is going to get some strange looks.
Bob even met some GIRLS!!! Bob promised to make them stars, so here's their picture:

At the Kadena Revetments
I neglected to post this picture before, simply because it's nearly impossible to read what's on the placard behind Bob. I thought the vegetation was pretty cool though...this is right next to the stone and concrete revetment that is pictured in Bob's Saturday below. The placard basically explains that the revetments were used by the Japanese to shelter their aircraft during WWII. The crude revetments provided a bit of protection from aerial bombardment and naval gunfire. The concept being that it would take a direct hit to eliminate an aircraft, vice a nearby exploding shell.
As usual, you can click on the picture to view full size.
